Practice Area Overview
Special Needs Planning
Planning for the future is challenging for everyone, but when you have a loved one with
a special need it can be more complicated because there are many emotional, financial
and legal factors to be considered.
When planning for a loved one with a special need, we can discuss why proper planning
is essential to prevent your loved one from possibly losing entitlement to needs-based
benefits such as Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and other
government benefits.
Special needs planning can be implemented in other practice areas. For example, in
Estate Planning, wills and trusts may include a special needs plan. Also, in Guardianship
Proceedings, powers may be requested to establish and manage a special needs plan.
